KSMB Associates Client Map

Ron Nierzwicki | KSMB Associates | October 2026

As of 13 Oct 2026

This page maps the small and mid-sized organizations that need experienced finance help but are not ready for a full-time CFO or controller, sorted by type and size, with who usually signs off at each.

The groups follow the industries your own site lists, from nonprofits and manufacturers to professional firms, real estate and construction, health care practices, and retail and restaurants.

Counts are for the whole US and are rough on purpose. Your Glenview base is a slice of each row, and on-site or virtual work lets you reach further.

Where your clients sit

Organizations by staff size, US wide. Accounting firms are left out of the professional firms row.

US firm counts by industry code, banded deliberately.

Who usually signs off

The person who usually decides to bring in outside finance help at each group, and what they need to hear from you.

Where the bigger opportunities sit

Most organizations in every row are small, and the owner or executive director decides alone. A direct note to that person usually reaches the decision.

Organizations with a few dozen to a few hundred staff are often where part-time CFO and controller work fits best. They are big enough to need real reporting, budgets and audit support, and often not big enough for a full-time finance leader. At nonprofits that size, the board treasurer often joins the decision.

Where KSMB Associates could start

Nonprofits facing an audit

Your services cover audited financial statement and footnote preparation, audit liaison and board presentations. Executive directors and board treasurers heading into an audit are the clearest first group.

Owners whose books are a mess

Your site invites owners to get their books cleaned up, and your Assessment phase starts with a review of the accounting system, records and controls. That is a natural first project for a small company that has outgrown its bookkeeping.

Growing manufacturers and distributors

Cash forecasting, banking relationship management and loan covenant monitoring are on your list. Owners of growing manufacturers and distributors deal with all three, often without a CFO.

Built from public federal business statistics and the company's own website, counts banded deliberately. Decision roles are typical, not named people.
